Account closed for no reason
On the 18 May 2018, i did an online application with Absa for a personal gold cheque account. An sms and email was sent to saying my account was successfully opened and that a consultant will call me shortly. One of their consultants called me on the 21st May , verifying the opening of my account and she advised that i go to any branch together with my original I.D and proof of residence. On the 24th May i went to the Alexandra Branch to complete my application process. I gave in my documents, the consultant that was helping me said that my account has been closed. I asked him for what reason and he said it was not stated. He went to make a call to verify this with the accounts department (he took almost 15 minutes on the call ) , he then came back saying the lady on the phone wants to speak to me because she says i have been listed for *****. The lady requested my i.d number, i gave it to her then she said i must call ********** 767, and that is should ask to speak to Rivonia, she will assist me with this problem. After leaving the branch , i called that number and there was no answer, i tried again an hour later and some women answered, i asked to speak to Rivonia and she said there is a multiple Rivonia's on the system, and she asked what the connection of the call was, i explained to her what had happened . She said i need she doesn't understand why Absa gave me their numbers, she then referred me to Rivonia N her number was ********** 352. I called her and she also said she has no connection with ABSA and i need to ask ABSA why they closed my account. I googled ABSA's ***** department number i explained to them what happened then they referred me to accounts department, i spoke to someone there who said that someone by the name N. Ngwenya has closed my account they asked me to contact him on ********** 001, when i called that number it was a call center department who couldn't help me a swell. I would like to know why my account was closed . Can someone from ABSA assist me with this please?
