Access to my salary
I have been an ABSA client for more than 10 years. 2 weeks ago ABSA decided to stop my account without any communication with me. On calling ABSA no one would tell me why my account was stopped, I was informed to go to the branch. The branch was taken from post to pillar without any breakthrough. I had to give up.... and my salary was in that account... on Friday, 13 Nov.... and I could not get access to it.
After calling the head office myself... I finally got a clue that my account was closed because I was going through debt review.... so ABSA, my bank for more than 10years... discarded me, just like that....
I was then told by their Debt review dept to open a savings account.... an account that I already have and have been having for 10 years...They said on Monday 16, they will transfer the money to my savings, and it won't be available immediately... I should check it on Tuesday 17 Nov, today.... but today I checked.... NOTHING. I called them again today.... now I'm told it's on the queue to be approved ny the supervisor before it can be available in my account.... they might take 2 to 5 days.
A bank that can offer you a loan in less than 10 mins, is unable to transfer my salary from one account to another.... it takes days. Is this a fair process... what about my creditors? My child's school fees... transport, food, etc.?
My question is.... why was it difficult fo ABSA to contact me before closing my account and tell me about the implications of the debt review for my ABSA accounts .... after being your client ALL THESE YEARS? You never failed to offer me things when my credit was good, but now that I am experiencing financial constraints I am no longer of value to you.... Wow.... imagine that. ..
I am VERY DISAPPOINTED with you ABSA. Not in a million years did I expect you to treat me this way.
