Absolutely pathetic

Dearest ABSA. My name is James and I have been banking with absa since before absa became absa, you know, back on the day when it was still al****, United etc around the time the twit reading this was barely a twinkle in dad's eye. I used to tell all my mates what good service I got from absa and how they should consider changing to absa. Now I tend to think other wise.

Yesterday was the last straw for me. (Tuesday)

I went to deposit cash into one of the "cash accepting" atms at the chatter ton road branch with is something I do on an almost weekly basis. This time however no machines were accepting cash as they were full. I then had to drive to another branch only to see many of the same faces from chatterton road also looking for working machines. Why were they not emptied when the bank first opened?

I went inside to find out what the story was.

I was informed that because of public holidays and blah blah bull**** that there was nothing they could do. I asked so if I go to the teller and deposit I will be charged fees....? The answer a resounding yes. I was asked if I would like to speak to the manager (I had been giving the current lady quite an ear lashing) turns out the manager wasnt interested in dealing with me and referred me to some 0860 number. How pathetic of the manager ! What are you as a bank going to do about a manager that doesn't care about its clients. The manager could quite easily have sorted this out by allowing me to deposit the cash at the teller and then reverse the chargers but no we don't work for clients now do we absa?

Same day my mum goes to absa because her card isn't working and she's charged R120 to replace your faulty piece of plastic that costed maybe 15 cents to produce. Shame on you absa.

When my mum asked if she had to pay for the replacement your teller said it was only one twenty. My mum thought ok R1.20. She told me about it later when I told her of my experience. I told her to check her statement and blow me down if the charge wasn't R120. My mum was with united bank and holds shares in absa. Shame on you absa.

Last year November my wife's mum had a stroke in thailand. I booked her ticket online and rushed through to absa chatter ton road to send money via Western union on your Internet kiosk terminal as my Internet banking was on the blink. Your people had me waiting for over 30 min even after explain my rush to 3 different people while t****ledee was teaching and doing all t****le dumbs internet banking at the kiosk. I had explains to three people my urgency of getting my wife to the airport and trying to send money to have it waiting there when she got there.

After waiting 30 minutes t****ledee then told me western union doesn't work on the banks internet kiosk terminal. Shame on you absa

You service has become pathetic.

What happened to the dedicated enquiries section at the chatterton road branch.

Shame on you absa for taking our money and making us think you are doing us a favour.

Shame on you where your managers couldn't be bothered to deal with a client. Shame on you for letting them even think that they can and probably will get away with it. Shame on you

Dear absa employee. Are you seriously asking g me to publish my bank a count details on a public forum? Hells bells mate why not just hang all my personal info out there to see. Perhaps (and this is just a thought mind you) you could send me an email address to which I could (hopefully) safely send that info. On a side note you don't actually need my account number to rectify your management (or total lack thereof) issues.
