Absa's uses cheap contractors

A couple of months ago, our gate broke so we called Absa home insurance, paid the R1k excess fee, and they sent on over one of their ****ty contractors who did the worst job. A few weeks after this, the gate motor became an issue, slowing down sporadically and now it's stopped working completely. Now, Absa has decided they won't be fixing the gate because it's an issue with the light, supposedly, and not the motor. Why this is even a reason to not fix it is beyond my comprehension. Are they not supposed to fix any issues that relate to the home, I mean, that's why we have insurance with them. There is ALWAYS an excuse with Absa. They ALWAYS find reasons for us to pay this R1k excess fee despite the contractors they that can't do a good job to begin with.

In addition, these SAME contractors came by on Friday to find out what the issue is and left a whole bunch of wires exposed. Now we've had rain and we're going to deal with more damage. What am I supposed to do?

That's not all. I've been asking for my mother's bond papers to be emailed to her for 4 days now. I've given them all the required details that they asked for, and then I don't hear anything from them. I have to constantly chase up on everyone working there to do their ******* jobs. I'm very annoyed with all of this. If they don't want to fix the gate, then I'd like a refund of my R1k excess because this is ****ing ridiculous.

Client was called and feedback given that the limit switch is damaged and does not form part of the claim it’s for the client own account.

Best regards,
