Absa’s Immediate Interbank Payment: A Fee for Nothing but Empty Promises
Where do I even start with Absa’s so-called "Immediate Interbank Payment" (IIP)? On Sunday, February 23, 2025, someone paid me via an IIP from their Absa account to my FNB account, shelling out extra for the privilege of “instant” funds. Fast forward to Tuesday, February 25, 2025—still nothing. Not a cent. Just me, staring at an empty account, wondering how a bank gets away with this daylight *******.
They charge a premium for a service they don’t deliver—like some twisted bait-and-switch ****. How many thousands of people are they fleecing daily with this *****ulent nonsense? The payer paid the fee, Absa pocketed it, and I’m left high and dry. It’s not just incompetence; it’s a chilling glimpse into how little they care about their customers. If this isn’t *****, then the word’s lost all meaning.
Absa, fix this now. Stop hiding behind your glossy ads and actually deliver what you promise—or is keeping the money and laughing all the way to the bank just your new business model? Disgraceful.
