Absa/Bryte Travel Insurance

I recently bought an airline ticket to Mos*** and spent more than R1 700 on commission buying foreign currency from Absa. I then app**** for travel insurance from Bryte Insurance, the company linked to Absa. To my surprise they informed me that they suspended operations to Russia "Due to the high risk, Bryte implemented the exclusions and suspended cover for travel to Russia". As I have always used Bryte, I believed that Bryte should have communicated this to me when they made this decision. I pointed out to them that during my 18 trips thus far to Mos*** I walk the streets at night and use the public transport with no problem. Recently 12 people were killed in two incidents in the Cape, many politicians were shot and crime is rampant in SA. Absa refused to refund my commission that they scored.
