Absa/Brooks and Luits complaints
1. I am on Debt Review and have a court order in place 2. Absa and Brooks and Luits collection company journaled my account and took my money without consent. I can't even buy food or pay for transportation for thee month 3. I will report this matter to the financial Ombudsmans 4. I will email the CEO complants line 5. I have been paying the bank for the past 9 years and the debt isn't coming down 6. I'm a single mother and this is what they do to their honest clients and loyal customer. 7. ABSA journals the poor people but writes off their Private bank and Wealth clients debt yet my debt review has been going on since 2016. 8. I want this sorted ASAP and money returned or keep the R8564.33 and then the debt must be written off 9. If neither can be done i will ensure that the financial Ombudsmans closes ABSAs doors as the actions taken against me are ******* and goes against everything that debt review is supposed to protect especially being harassed on my personal cell, and at my place of employment.
Absa Bank emailed me after i logged a complaint on their website directly on the same day.
I received communication from Absa with no explanation, no calls to discuss just two letters stating that they no longer allow clients to increase their financial over indebtedness.
I am not applying for credit.
Absa Bank decided to take over R8000 from my account which goes against the Debt Review policies and have also decided to increase my debt review premium with an additional R1000. The Banks must act within specified parameters however the Treating Customers Fairly Policy has failed here, The Consumer Protection Act has failed here and once again the poorer customer bases pay the price and and Absa bank just takes money ********ly from accounts yet Private bank clients and Wealth clients get their debt written off. How is this fair to me?
According to Absa Bank, based on the Certificate of Balance that is dated 09/06/2025, states that when i went on debt review in 2015 my balance was R79 000 and after 9 years of payment my balance has come down to R58 000. A total of R21 000 has been paid after 9years. This is a clear indication that my loan was not restructured correctly, it has fallen so badly into arrears and with no reduction of the interest rates charged the account has accumulated so much interest that my balance is going nowhere slowly.
This is my last appeal for a resolve before pleading my case to the Financial Ombudsman to step in and review.
The grave misconduct on my account and the way that I have been treated as an Absa Bank customer from 1993 is unacceptable.
As a bank you willingly take our salaries which we happily provide but when a customer really needs help and assistance Absa Bank will definitely not go the extra mile for the ordinary man.
