ABSA will not reverse my money

I made a direct EFT Payment from FNB to an ABSA Account. The account belongs to Mr Francois de Bruyn from R and L Renovators t/a Renovation Kings. It turns out that he is a renowned ***** with a number of people that was done in by him. I paid him R14k odd and he did absolutely nothing.

When I made the payment he insisted that I do an immediate EFT (pay & clear now). When I discovered he was ******* a few days later, I asked FNB to reverse the amount paid. However it seems that ABSA accounts does not allow for that should 'pay and clear' be selected. How can you protect ****** and *****s?
