ABSA will not protect your account!!!!

For a couple of months now I have been struggling with unauthorized debit orders going into my account. I have been complaining to Absa ever since and their lack of ability to protect their customers from ********** who just submit debit orders to clients without any service agreement is shocking.

In July Absa responded and asked me to go to a branch to sign forms that would prohibit these companies from debiting my account further. I drove to a branch at my own cost and signed forms as required, but to my surprise....the very same companies debited my account again this morning. And according to the bank, this is quite simple; if i want a debit order cancelled, i can just walk into a branch and have that done but the problem is the fee they charge to cancel these debit orders that were not authorized by me to begin with. So yes, Absa is dragging their feet in getting all this resolved because they are making a ton of money from charging money to reverse these transactions.

How easy is it to have a bogus company submit a debit order request on your account at Absa? Well the answer to that; it is very easy and Absa seems to not have any systems in place to verify anything and they have even failed me after they requested me to come sign forms to officially stop these companies from deducting money from my account.

I have lost all faith in absa as a bank and their ability to safeguard their client's accounts and it is absolutely shocking for a brand this big.
