ABSA will let you down

My experience with ABSA keeps on getting worse by the day.

Unwilling to match the better interest rate on my home loan offered by another bank even though my credit score is good. After I managed to cancel my bond (with a 3-month notice period), I got no confirmation besides a screenshot I took. Two months later, the transfer attorneys notify me that the cancellation has been logged now - this means an ADDITIONAL THREE MONTHS with this TERRIBLE institution. That means that we keep paying the exorbitant interest rate for another three months. To top this all off, our savings in our bond have now been frozen for the duration of the waiting period. No notice was given - it's just not available. Flexireserve balance: R0.00. Unbelievable. We had an emergency and had no money due to ABSA holding our savings hostage during the cancellation period. My premium has also just gone up by a notable amount even though there has not been another rate hike yet. These guys are ********s - DON'T TRUST ABSA WITH YOUR MONEY. Stay very far away. I've been an ABSA customer for 20 years. Not a day longer than they force me to will I have anything to do with them.

Biggest mistake of my life signing a bond with them. Communication is pathetic, and service is pathetic. They do not care for their customers. The fees are high and the benefits are pitiful!!!!!!
