ABSA will change the terms of your contract as they wish. Without notifying "you".
First I received a call from a number I could not verify that informed me its ABSA and I need to give them my ID number for the call to continue. I informed them I cannot do that and that as I do not know if they are really ABSA. They told me that they cannot confirm its me (after contacting me on the number I gave them when opening the account) the number is not good enough proof... I requested an email then and they said we cannot email you we do that after this phone call normally. Today I receive an sms (to the number that wasn't good enough for them to verify it was me, with my finance agreement details in it... so after you cannot verify its me from my number you decide to send my details to that number anyway?)
"Dear ABSA client, we failed to get in contact with you. Please send proof of vehicle insurance not older than 3 months for your Absa finance agreement ********** to ********** / fax ********** 422 within 14 days. Failure to adhere will result in an insurance premium of R775.40 being added to your instalment. Please include your ID number or Absa vehicle and asset finance account number when sending your proof of insurance. For any further queries please contact us on ***. Please don't reply to this SMS."
I am curious about how you can just add premiums to my account without any authorization from me?
Why you would send my information to a number that you decided wasn't me.
Why is email (which is secured by a password, unlike my phone number) not an acceptable form of communication.
I am completely baffled why you would choose to threaten your clients.
Finally to make this whole situation worse I contacted you guys via your website 03/10/2017 and got nothing but an auto response to my question which remains unresolved to this day. But you guys have more than enough time to threaten to adjust my premiums without ever getting hold of me.
PS: I emailed you the documents.
