ABSA Waverley and BenSwartStreet risk the lives and Covid health of clients especially the elderly

The second time in 3 months I have to report that ABSA, at Waverley and BenSwartStreet this time, risk the lives and health of clients especially the elderly, by branch management AGAIN being unaware of their own procedures and risks: The bankmachines clearly say at the top: "Cash or Cheque" for deposits, and there is no warning that the machines exclude Cheques. As a result we stand there, password inserted, and try to make Cheque deposits as promised by the bank's notice, but it does not work. This already unnecessarily exposes the client to the keypad for a transaction that has been secretly blocked on the menu. Who uses cheques: Often the elderly, the most vulnerable. Now the person has to go inside the branch to find out what is wrong with the machine, and stand in a queue to deposit a cheque. Yes, we know envelopes are necessary, we bring ours. Yes, we know cheque deposits are "subject to verification" for 2 weeks, this has been so for years. WHY do the notices say cheques accepted, but the bank machines cannot do it, at both these branches? WHY is there no warning, and WHY must the elderly now face Covid19 exposure in the teller queue? I already had to take time off from work to go to the machine, I CANNOT take useless phonecalls, ONLY contact me in WRITING, EMAIL janmconradie at gmail dot com. Yes, I did ask a staff member standing outside at Waverley, and waited 5 minutes, then I had to go to work. The queue inside is unacceptable, the notice says the machine can do it.

Do NOT think that a phone call helps, I repeat DO NOT CALL, ONLY WRITE for example email. Again, DO NOT CALL, that does not help, ONLY WRITE. Please. You have my email.
Businesses who think a reply saying "We tried calling but you are too busy" is acceptable, get a 0 from me and another report.

I rep**** to ABSA's email and NOTHING has happened since.
My I also gently point out the utter illiteracy of ABSA's reply after I repeatedly wrote above that telephone calls are unacceptable? Meanwhile the machines at those 2 branches STILL lie about whether cheques can be deposited, NOTHING has been done.

Absa sent me a "feedback" email about this harmful case: IT WAS BLANK. The utter collapse of ability and competence at some of these organizations astounds me.
