On Thursday 7 May I decided to go to Absa Bank in Richards Bay to deposit some money. I went inside the bank and deposited the money at the teller not at the atm. The lady that assisted me handed me my slip and the recipient notified me they recieved the money. Few hours after leaving the bank I received a call from the lady that was assisting me asking if I had not taken an amount of R1000 because it is missing and she remembers assisting me. I told her no the money I gave her she counted with a machine then gave me my slip and I left. She asked in which shops I went to after leaving the bank as she wants me to give her all the slips of the shopping I did to see if that amount wont add up to the missing R1000. I was confused and felt so violated. I ignored her plea for me to bring her slips because I really did not understand what that was all about. On Friday 8 May I received another call from her, she still insists I need to bring her slips. I dont live in Richards Bay I live in Ngwelezane so it didnt make sense for me to travel back to Richards Bay to even confront her. Later on Friday she called me again telling me she found the money. I am a pensioner who feels so violated by Absa, this has left a scar in me.
