ABSA: Vietnam F1 Grand Prix refund

I have closed my checque account with the above number in August 2020. In October 2019 I paid for Formula 1 Grand Prix tickets in Vietnam from this account. ( 19/10/2019 Buiteland Aankope Vereffenin 4.00 T 12 550.59 11 624.16- Kaart Nr. 9606 Vietnam Grand Prix Ha No (Effektief 15/10/2019)) As a result of Cocid-19 the Grand Prix was subsequently cancelled and the promoter needs to refund us. The problem being that they can only refund into the account the payment was done from. The Vietnam GP promoters refunded the money in November 2020 and Absa returned the transaction. They refuse to re-open the account so that I can be refunded. I directed an e-mail to *** in October 2020 and was referred to the branch Manager. The Branch Manager is not able to assist and just wants me to accept that I will not get the refund. No one at Absa seems to care that I am just going to lose R12 500... I will not even be surprised if they don't reply to this complaint
