Absa vehicle finance nightmare!!!!

When I purchased my vehicle I phoned Absa Vehicle Finance to find out if I could pay in an extra amount to pay my vehicle off sooner. I got account details with a reference number in which i've been making a monthly contribution for the past two years.

I made a phone call at the beginning of this year to find out how much I still owe on my vehicle finance (out of interest sake) only to find out that they've taken the first years contribution and capitalised it (instead of reducing the term) thereby reducing my monthly payment (There is only a R70 difference which I assumed was due to inflation) because I had not given any instruction on what to do with the money.

I have made numerous calls after this to get the recording of my phone call in 2015 to no avail, I get a ridiculous excuse each time (If the consultant had told me I would need to phone every month to instruct them on what to do with the money and I get proof of this in the recording i’ll understand and forego the capitalisation of the 1st years extra payments).

I've also instructed them on numerous occasion to take the current surplus amount (From the 2nd years payments) and reduce my term, not to capitalise it, after which I was told that they could not do it due to my account being locked because I need to re-Fica. I sent my Fica documentation through and after two days of no communication i phoned ********** 600 to find out that my account had in fact never been locked (Reference #ELSM 340 consultant Takalane Kanayane). I then phoned to ask for my money back since i’ve not been getting anywhere only to hear they’ve taken my surplus amount and Capitalised it again after I instructed them not to do it! I was told by AB Mokone that even though I had instructed them not to do it, it does not count because my account was locked - but I found out my account was never locked! AB Mokone then said that they could process a refund and that he would phone me back - it has been 24hrs and once again, no feedback! The last reference number is # ********** 4. I cannot believe that customers get treated this way, I have no faith in Absa and I am extremely upset. How can you just do this with MY money after I had instructed on what to do with it! I want my money refunded!

My refund has been processed but I still don't have the recording of the initial phone call I made in 2015. I want to hear wether the consultant explained to me that I would have to phone to instruct what they have to do with the money
