ABSA Vehicle Finance *****

I bought a vehicle through ABSA Vehicle Finance in 2009.

Last month I paid the final settlement amount (March 2018).

Last week I requested my original Registration documents (17 April) to be sent to my closest ABSA Branch.

The responded by saying that the request is done.

Then this week they notified me that ABSA does not have the original Natis documents and that change of ownership and title has already been done in 2016.

So, question - How does change of ownership happen if I am still paying the bank.

I was on the phone for more than two hours a week. Agents can’t sort it out and the chairman and admin department just doesn’t respond to the agent’s requests. I was also informed that the admin department does not liase with the public.

So, no one can help me find the original Natis documents. This is so so frustrating. I want to purchase a new vehicle and trade my current (paid-off) vehicle in but my hands are tied.

ABSA just shruggs their shoulders and I am left in the dark! This is unacceptable. I wonder what the Bank Ombudsman will say about this?
