Absa Vehicle finance absolute JOKE!
Absolutely disgusted in ABSA Bank.
I have been banking with absa for 3 years now. I have a minimum of R165 000.00 income per month.
For the past 8 months I have been trying to purchase a new vehicle. Every month through another dealership and ABSA keeps declining me stating I am insolvent. ( at that point in time I thought that the dealerships just did not want to assist in the application)
As an Absa client I have app**** through the Absa online portal myself. I received a reference number and as stated via the website Absa will call me in 48 hours.
48 hours passed and absolutely no feedback nor call came from ABSA. I then called them myself and was transferred to consultant Sicelo Langa. Sicelo Langa then confirmed my application was declined due to being insolvent. I explained to Sicelo Langa that I am not insolvent , I have never been and have never app**** for it. Also I don’t understand how he claims I am insolvent as ABSA has offered me 2 credit cards in the past 5 months that is linked to my online profile, so how can they give me credit whilst claiming I am insolvent. Sicelo Langa then told me that Absa credit card and financing are two different department. Which I do understand bit at the end of the day it is the same BANK. Sicelo then instructed me to call transunion as this apparently has been on transunion side and get a letter from them stating I am not “insolvent” .
After struggling 2 hours to get hold of Transunion I finally spoke to a consultant she then acknowledges that I am not under “insolvency” also that they are not able to issue any letter as I have never been placed under insolvency.
Again, calling back to Absa explaining the entire situation to Sicelo Langa, he then confirmed to escalate this to the relevant department and will revert within a day or two.
The day afterwards he called claiming that I am indeed not insolvent however that I have had a debit order returned on my account and that is the reason for my decline. I asked him what debit order as I don’t have any authorised debit orders on my account and he could not answer the question and just basically confirmed that he is unable to assist me.
So after months of being “insolvent” I now have “RD’s” on my account. Whilst Absa gives me credit cards right left and centre they are unable to assist with any financing. They really do not stand for “Africanacity, the way we get things done”
We were also busy moving our business account to Absa and all documentation was sent through . 2 weeks passed and till this day consultant Aletta Mashile has also not even tried to assist.
I am absolutely shocked in Absa bank. I do not recommend any business nor private person ever bank with them. I am moving all my accounts back to FNB.
It is a disgrace
