Absa Vehicle Finance

I have a vehicle financed by Absa, Due to unforeseen circumstances I found myself in dire financial difficulties. I have been unable to pay the FULL amount of my account, but HAVE been making payments.

I received NO form of communication from Absa regarding this account. Yesterday, 26 September 2016, I received a phone call from a gentleman asking for my address as he wanted to come see me. Only once I enquired as to his reason for wanting to see me did he inform me that he was coming to repossess my vehicle. Surely, I should have received some kind of notification from Absa that my vehicle would be repossessed if I did not increase the payments being made?

I am very disappointed in the manner in which Absa has teated me, especially in the harsh economic climate we are currently experiencing.

Losing my vehicle leaves two members of my household (myself and my son) unable to get to work which will result in us becoming homeless and without food.

Surely, receiving payment, albeit a portion of the installment, is better than receiving NO payment and leaving a family destitute?!?!?!

Soooooooo, I paid an amount of R16 000 into my vehicle account and despite Absa being fully aware of the financial difficulty I am in that is NOT enough for them.

Seriously guys, you must be kidding - honestly can't believe it
