ABSA VEHICLE DEPARTMENT

Second complaint in this week as matter is not resolved! Three weeks ago I received a setlement letter for my car in order to sell it. It was from a Lulama.

I sold it as I had to and paid them the last few thousand I owed in FULL THREE WEEKS AGO. They still continue to deduct installments even after I paid in full the amount this person gave me in the settlement letter. AND I must pay the fees on the returned installments this months. Today I received this letter from the same person after I complained this week. ABSA KINDLY EXPLAIN TO ME WHAT THIS MEANS AS IT DOESNT HELP I PHONE, I DONT GET THROUGH. IF I EMAIL THERE IS NO REPLY (NOTHING NEW). I hope now you will respond and give me the correct letter and stop deducting money which you shouldnt!! Needless to say Im closing my account.

We hereby confirm that according to our records the account has been paid in full. This confirmation is given without prejudice to any rights ABSA Vehicle and Asset Finance may have, since it is possible that payment made in the recent past by cheque/debit order/bill may be returned to us unpaid. Please note that ownership of the article still vests in the Bank in the above circumstances until such time as the full amount has been paid to us either in cash or by bank guaranteed cheque, and that the client has no right whatsoever to sell the article on behalf of the Bank. If the Bank has paid any insurance premiums on your behalf to the insurer, then your insurance policies will lapse on receipt of the final payment and short –term insurance/extended cover will lapse after settlement of the account. Please contact an insurance broker of your choice (or Absa Brokers as ********** 23) immediately to arrange future cover. Absa Vehicle and Asset Finance would like to thank you for the opportunity to be of service to you.
