ABSA - ********l Debt Review, 454 days, 15 queries later and query still not resolved
I am in the "ABSA - Prison" for a crime I didn't commit and I can't get out. I switched from ABSA to Capitec in 2008. I had a revolving credit loan with ABSA at the time which was fully settled in 2011. I opened an ABSA Cheque Account November 2017 to accommodate quicker salary clearance from my Employer. I also app**** for vehicle finance through ABSA and was declined. Their Credit Bureau shows that I am under Debt Review for outstanding revolving loan. I escalated this matter immediately as I have never been under debt review and secondly I know this loan is paid up. I was told that I can't get a Paid Up Letter as I am flagged on their Credit Bureau as being under Debt Review. I was told by their Recoveries Department in 2017 that they can see on the system the Debt is settled all they need to do is forward the query to their Credit Bureau and the flag will be lifted and I will receive a Paid Up Letter. This was promised to happen in 3 to 4 working days. 15 Queries later on the same matter during 2018 still no resolve. Just empty promises and me walking out red faced for the Debt Review label. Fast forward February 2019 I apply for vehicle finance after an accident where my vehicle was written off. Every dealership raises their eyebrows with this "Debt Review" Label. I finally got a vehicle through Wesbank. On the 2nd of April 2019 as a last attempt I lodged a query at my local ABSA Branch to get the matter resolved. I'm being promised that 3 to 4 working days, even got an email from Perrienne Harwood asking the Credit Bureau to remove the information. I followed up every 4 days just to be told Pierrienne is not available I must call back the next day. I then phone the branch where the query was logged where I'm transferred to the branch manager but he/she never answers. This morning 2nd of May I phoned to get feedback from Pierrienne, I was told by Vusi another consultant that this account is so old it is not reflecting on their system she will transfer me to Peirrienne. I held the line with an answer that Pierriene is now on tea she will look into it, they don't have answers for me. I then asked Vusi who else can I esculate the matter to. Can I approach the Credit Ombudman? She sarcastically said to me what is the Ombudsman going to do for me. I was told I must wait for feedback. So 454 days since my first query was logged and still I'm a bad payer under Debt Review. Who do I approach next?
