ABSA-UNABLE TO SUPPLY BANK STATEMENTS FROM 2018

I require Bank Statement from 2018 for SARS. I went to the local branch in Vryheid, they were unable to give me statements from 01 Mar 2018 to 03 July 2018 and from 04 Aug 2018 to 03 January 2019. I paid R2340 for statements from 3 accounts. They were able to print some sort of transaction list for the missing months, however I cannot use these. The branch manager advised that they contacted support and they advised that they dont have bank statements for the periods in question. How is it possible that the ABSA doesnt have statements for me for 9 of the months, and yet I had to pay for the "transaction report"as a bank statement. Is ABSA not required to keep statements for at least 5 years?
