ABSA TRUST YOUR EXECUTOR MAKE SURE
Absa Trust was the Executor of my parents estate. - clients of the group for more than 40 years. They sold their business, built a unit on our property and basically enjoyed spending their money. When my mom passed away November 2014 - we went to ABSA as the TRUSTEES of their Estate. Apparently their estate was too small and with no financial gain ABSA declined to handle the estate. I battled for months to be appointed Executor and eventually I received the letter from the Master of the Court. With an explicit authorisation to handle my mom's saving and credit card(Positive balance) I went to ABSA to transfer the funds to my Dad's account (as heir). Well that was easier said than done - after weeks and weeks I am nowhere further with the transfer of the credit card fund. I have heard every excuse in the book - I have been told it cant be transferred to my dad's account but it had to be transferred to mine then I am told no must be a journal entry to his account - well you know what ABSA I don't care - pay me pay my dad just pay the damn money. We are talking about a mere +R3 100. I have spent hours of my time standing in q's, getting documents certified - get your act together!!!!!
