Absa Trust - Extremely Slow and Unresponsive - Money Making

Hi,

We notified Absa about the death of my brother more than 100 days ago and the initial response to acknowledge took almost 2 months.

In the interim we decided to get the help of a lawyer to assist.

We have submitted all the documentation to the Masters and now are being told Absa wants to make money and not renounce even though the surviving spouse who is on the will as well does not want this.

We would not have a problem with Absa but if this is the way that they handle the initial setup we can expect this to take 3 years given the pace of Absa.

I submitted a complaint and no one has responded.

I have dealt with Dikeledi Mampuru with no luck.

The family still has no access to any of the deceased accounts as Absa is holding the key to allow us executorship or to process this faster.

Reviewer Update
I received a prompt response from Absa and got the outcome I expected.
Absa did not acknowledge their lack of urgency in the issue and I just left it there as it seemed like more effort to prove.

Sad that complaints are only attended to if put on a public forum.
