Absa Travel insurance is a *****

<p>Took out travel insurance with Absa (who in turn contract Europ Assist) for my trip to the states. I lost my handbag and all money/documents while there. Firstly the service from Europ Assist was terrible while there. The lady I was corresponding with went on leave and it look days and a follow up email for someone else to assist me. Since coming back I have lodged my claim but other than being told that it has been submitted to the claims dept, there has been no further action or communication.</p> <p>The claims dept has not contacted me, I dont have a case number - and the consultants at Europ Assist are not responding to my mails asking what's going on. I have also mailed Absa to ask them to intervene and Absa have also not responded to my mail. It's as if they're hoping I'll completely forget about the claim, so they're ignoring it now. Terrible service. They have taken my money without honouring their promises. Certainly will not be using Absa travel insurance again and encourage everyone to stay away.</p>
