ABSA: THIS HAS BECOME HARASSMENT — STOP CALLING ME!

I have officially reached my limit with ABSA and their completely unacceptable, excessive and relentless telephone calls and emails.

YES, I HAVE VEHICLE FINANCE WITH ABSA. NO, THAT DOES NOT GIVE YOU THE RIGHT TO HARASS ME.

I am receiving approximately 3–5 CALLS EVERY SINGLE DAY, on top of unsolicited emails. At what point does ABSA consider this excessive? Because we are well past normal customer contact.

Calling someone repeatedly, day after day, for unsolicited purposes is not “excellent customer service”. It is not “following up”. It is intrusive, disruptive and completely unacceptable.

I have a life. I have a job. I cannot and should not have to look at my phone constantly wondering whether ABSA is going to be calling me AGAIN.

Let me make this exceptionally clear since the message apparently has not been understood:

STOP CALLING ME.

I do not want unsolicited marketing calls.

I do not want telesales calls.

I do not want promotional calls.

I do not want repeated calls from different numbers.

I do not want unsolicited promotional emails.

REMOVE MY CONTACT DETAILS FROM EVERY MARKETING, TELESALES, PROMOTIONAL AND UNSOLICITED CONTACT LIST IMMEDIATELY.

And before anyone at ABSA responds with the usual generic copy-and-paste nonsense about needing my details because I have an existing vehicle finance agreement — that is NOT what this complaint is about.

I understand perfectly well that ABSA may need to contact me regarding legitimate and necessary matters relating to my existing vehicle finance account.

What I am objecting to is the ridiculous volume of unsolicited contact I am receiving.

3–5 CALLS A DAY IS ABSURD.

Who exactly thought this was an acceptable way to communicate with a customer?

Does ABSA genuinely believe that repeatedly calling someone until they are completely irritated with your company is an effective customer engagement strategy?

Because congratulations — it is working in exactly the opposite way.

I am now formally demanding that ABSA:

* CEASE ALL UNSOLICITED MARKETING AND TELESALES CALLS IMMEDIATELY. * STOP SENDING ME UNSOLICITED PROMOTIONAL EMAILS. * Remove my telephone number and email address from ALL marketing and telesales databases. * Ensure that ALL departments and any third parties acting on ABSA’s behalf are instructed to stop contacting me for unsolicited purposes. * Provide me with written confirmation that my opt-out request has been processed. * Explain why I have been subjected to such an excessive and relentless volume of calls.

I should not have to go onto a public platform to beg a major financial institution to respect a very basic boundary:

IF I DO NOT WANT TO BE CONTACTED FOR MARKETING PURPOSES, STOP CONTACTING ME.

ABSA, I am absolutely exhausted by this.

STOP CALLING ME. STOP EMAILING ME. STOP HARASSING ME WITH UNSOLICITED CONTACT.

If this behaviour continues after this formal request to cease unsolicited marketing contact, I will have no hesitation in escalating the matter further through the appropriate channels.

Enough is enough.
