ABSA the Petulant Child

I have been trying since November 2017 for ABSA to recognise that they failed Mrs Hines, a colleague of mine, when she paid off her house 2005 and that ABSA were not diligent enough to send her deeds to the correct attorney. Mrs Hines has been given photocopied version of her deeds which she believed were the original. Many years later, Mrs Hines a pensioner, was forced to replace her deeds at her cost (R2,500) - ABSA taking no responsibility whatsoever in ensuring the deeds that they had held for many years, were eventually returned to the correct owner. I thought I was getting somewhere with correspondence from them on 2nd February 2018 where they admitted sending the deeds to JC Smit - an attorney, however, not Mrs Hines attorney. Since then all correspondence stopped - emails to Koena Mesenya on 18th Feb and 27 Feb were ignored. I then contacted their help line which is advertised, I sent emails 1st March, 6th March and 2nd April and it was only when I threatened them with the Ombudsman - did they respond, where they asked someone to help me, help, which of course, I did not receive. Since then - nothing. I have never dealt with such an arrogant organisation before in my life - it is like dealing with a petulant child. ABSA do NOT live up to either of their slogans of “Today, tomorrow, together (really?)” and certainly not living up to three of the five values that ABSA say drives their company i.e. Respect, Service and Excellence. Isn't it a pity I need to go to the lengths of writing negative reports on Hello Peter and using the Ombudsman to resolve this simple issue. Don't Bank with ABSA - you will regret it!!!!!
