ABSA Technical (Internet Banking Help) Need Training In Customer Service as their service is pathetic

I recently upgraded from a savings account to a cheque account. For this reason, i received a new card, which was activated and worked perfectly. The new card was also linked to the "APP" , which was also working perfectly. On the day that I did the upgrade of the account, I also app**** for a credit card (which was approved). On Tuesday 06 Feb, I went to the branch to collect my credit card. The consultant at the customer service counter was very helpful and did what she had to to ensure that the credit card was linked. On her system, everything was in order. She advised me to ensure that all was in order on the banking app as well. When I went in on the app, it gave me a message to tell me "Error - no accounts" - which I explained to the young lady was assisting me. She found that odd, and no matter what we did, the app kept telling me that there are "no accounts". Eventually I deleted the app off my phone and downloaded it again - to no avail. I spent more than an hour in the bank trying to get the issue resolved which didn't happen, despite the fact that according to the consultant's system - everything was fine. Due to the fact that I had already spent so much time in the bank, and nothing was working. The consultant with whom I had been dealing suggested that I contact technical services to assist me in rectifying the matter. Today I attempted to do just that. I spent the greater part of my day on the phone to various service personnel (numerous calls), and each time I got told different things and different instructions from each one, not one of them however took the time to listen and understand the exact problem. Despite this however - I did as I was told each time, deleting the app various times and re-installing it over and over. Eventually I left the matter until I got home, where I tried working through the desktop and called in to technical support again. Once again, the service agent didn't listen properly and just started giving her ideas and suggestions. the more I tried to explain to her that prior to me collecting my credit card, everything was working perfectly (including my new debit card). She became rude (& considering that I also had a day from hell and was overly frustrated with trying to sort this matter out), I obviously retaliated. She shouted at me - telling me that the (something) card conversion hadn't been done and the card (debit card) was also not linked properly. The more I tried to explain to her that it had been done (considering I had already been using the new card for a week already), the less she wanted to hear (or understand). She then shouted at me - telling me that I have to go back to my branch because only the branch can fix this. I (already irate by now) - told her that this is ridiculous , that now at 14h45 on a Friday afternoon I'm being told to go back to the branch - to what end - as I had already spent more than an hour in the bank on Tuesday and got nowhere, which is why I was told to contact "Technical services". She was extremely rude and told me that if I want the matter solved - I have to go back to my branch, and then duly proceeded to put the phone down. This is really ridiculous, because had ANY of the staff (to whom I had spoken), actually taken the time to listen (& understand) what I was saying they could have saved me a whole day's worth of phone calls, time, data (deleting and re-installing the app). Had anyone of these staff members actually listened - then I would have known early enough in the day to go to MY BRANCH and try get this sorted out. I am highly disappointed with this, whatever happened to "the customer is always right". This experience is in sad contrast to the staff where my account is held (Alberton). At least the branch staff are highly professional, friendly, patient and do everything to ensure that customers are treated well. In the aftermath of this experience, I called my branch, spoke to the branch manager who was very patient, took the time to understand the problem and at least offer a solution. She furthermore also took the time to explain that I could visit ANY ABSA branch to get the matter resolved, and that it's not a MUST that I have to go to my branch. ABSA should really do something about their technical staff - as these service consultants are letting the bank down.
