Dear Absa Vehicle Finance Team,
I am writing to express my serious concerns and disappointment with the service I have received from Absa Vehicle Finance. The motto, "Does your story really matter to them," seems insincere given my recent experiences.
I have faced significant challenges in keeping up with my vehicle finance payments. Despite my efforts to communicate my situation, the risk management agents I have spoken with have shown little understanding or empathy, focusing solely on the outstanding amount without considering my circumstances.
For the past three years, I have consistently paid off my vehicle, but I still owe R17,000. I have been striving to pay both my current installments and the arrears. I acknowledge my lapses, but considering the difficult global conditions, I had hoped for some leniency and support.
I have been in regular contact with Riaan at Absa, explaining my situation and informing him that I had to borrow money to make a payment. Despite this, he has not responded and has proceeded with a court order. This action has been taken even though half of my salary is already being used to address the arrears.
I am perplexed as to why repossession proceedings are being initiated when I am only a year away from completing my payments. This approach seems harsh and unsympathetic.
I urge Absa to reconsider its stance and work with me to find a more reasonable and compassionate solution. Banks should provide support during need, not add to the burden.
Best regards,
