Absa taking off home loan debit orders twice, two months in a row

Dear Absa,

I need urgent assistance and rectification on our account and need this resolved this morning still, else I will escalate the matter as far as possible.

In Dec 2020, Absa tried to take a debit order off my wife’s account twice, resulting in 1x debit order failing (the 2nd one failed) and costing us unnecessary banking fees due to this.

Now in Jan 2021, Absa debited twice again, taking off R6620.83 (old debit amount) + R7804.41 (new debit amount).

Why are debit orders for our home loan going off twice?

Please refund us urgently the R6620.83 debit order for our old home loan amount that should NOT have been taken off our account + the banking fee of R110.00 for the failed debit order amount.

All our other debit orders are scheduled to go off tonight and tomorrow night, but due to this error from Absa’s side, our other debit orders are going to bounce back, resulting in more penalty fees. I am going to hold Absa accountable if this does happen as it is Absa’s fault and not ours.

I trust this will be resolved shortly and that the R6620.83 + R110.00 will reflect back in our account before end of business today.

Words cannot describe how frustrated and disappointed in Absa I am, this is shocking and ********* to say the least!
