ABSA Student Loans

<p>In 2015 January in desperate need I app**** for a student loan to finance my post graduate studies at Absa Student Loans in Braamfontein. My sister app**** for the loan on my behalf. It was explained that she will pay interest every month. She has been doing this diligently. Studies were completed end of 2015 successfully. But, My sister keeps getting threatening phone calls that if she doesnt pay the amount due she will have to deal with lawyers. She has explained time and again that she can afford to only pay interest for now because she has a lot on her plate, supporting 3 children and myself because I havent found employment. The Absa consultant wants to hear nothing about this. The interest keeps increasing. To make matters worse the Consultant called my sister telling her from January 2016 she will no longer pay off the interest she must now start paying off the loan. Why is Absa so harsh on student loans as if it was a personal loan? Refusing to even understand when my sister explains she can only pay the interest for now but no they want her to pay off the amount which means she will pay more bearing in mind she is struggling to make ends meet as it is.</p>
