ABSA Student loan settlement amount ****

its unfortunate that i took out a student loan with Absa in 2015 for my studies for R200 000 spanning 2016 & 2017 at a 10% interest rate. i have been making payments towards this loan since 2016 on a month to month and i currently make payments of R5564 on a monthly basis but i happen to still owe R164 432 , despite this when iv asked for the settlement amount i am told its as is reflected on the statement and is a few hundred rands less than the balance. this doesnt make sense to me as the settlement should exclude the interest payment due to the bank over the remaining years on the loan. when i enquired at Absa about this i was informed that since my account number starts with a 9 it was loaded on the old system which loaded student loans as overdrafts and they are therefore unable to help me and the settlement is the settlement as reflected on my statement. this is ****************, why then would i settle a loan to benefit the bank which has been milking me since 2016. i feel ****** by ABSA!
