ABSA *****ing money - be aware! Account can not be closed once opened.

I've been trying to close an account for a number of years. The cheque account had a zero balance in 2015. I tried to close it but ABSA could not for some reason. (I went into the Benoni branch). Then I realised that I am being blacklisted in November 2018. Found out that it is because my ABSA cheque account is in arrears (Accumulitive bank costs with interest). The arrears amount was close to R3000. I paid it on 14 November. I send the proof of payment to LGR attorneys and they promised to close the account as I can't do it. (I battled for hours in ABSA bank before they accepted the money). Account still not closed today 8 January. Now I owe R42.50 and I am still blacklisted. ABSA don't want to accept money and close account as it is with their legal apartment. Lgr attorneys can't send me pay details (where I should pay account), so I will be paying this with internet EFT and keep my proof of payment. I am NOT willing to pay this for the rest of my life. Should I speak to the Bank Ombudsman, or what can I do to get this account closed and my name cleared?
