ABSA shows no care for low LSM customers

This past week, my gardener's wife had her ABSA card cloned and all the money in her bank account ******. She went into ABSA Midrand and reported the ***** and asked for her bank statements to see what had happened.

I am not sure if she asked for a ***** case to be opened or not (I don't think she would have known this was possible), but by virtue of the fact that she had had her bank cleaned out, and requested bank statements and closed the account, you would have thought that the person helping her would immediately have opened a ***** case, explained to her what she needed to do to escalate the problem and see if she could get a remedy.

This would appear not to have happened. Poor people in this country are always the ones who get the least help, when they should in fact get more help and care than people in the know.

I am very disappointed in ABSA, and I would like to say to them, what is the point of spending millions on CSI initiatives, if you can't even help the most vulnerable of your customers.

You should be embarrassed that my gardener's employer has to step in and go into a branch with him and his wife to get this mess sorted out.
