ABSA SHAME ON YOU

We had a trust fund account with ABSA bank for my niece , i must say I am very disappointed with how the Trust was handle, I'm definitely not happy. And the lack of professionalism is on another level.

The amount set aside was R159 782, 72 and would only be released when she turns 21 but should there be a need for financial assistance my mom should request for the needed amount and provide proof; however there funds will generate interest of R1000 which she can take every month should she agree, so my mom agreed for the interest to be deposited every month.

December 2018 my mom requested R5500 for clothes and stationery and other necessities for next year 2019; she proveded proof as well the funds where deposited. Until then she never requested for any funds she was receiving only the R1000, 2020 she requested the R550 be added to the monthly R1000 she wanted pay transport along the way they stop depositing the extra R550 due to corvid (kids were not going to school) so it went back R1000 being deposited.

The bank financial year ends on the 28 of February so we would receive annual statements (which I honestly do not understand); they sent twice. Yesterday my mom received a message stating that as from the 1st of November 2021 funds are depleted, we truly don't understand how they can be depleted, we are not sure where to go for further clarification because when we go the bank they tell us to contact the financial advisor handling the trust and she's forever not available, when we email we just get an automated reply that she'll get back to us. And when we explain our challenges to the bank they only send an email.

On the 22nd of October 2021 visited one of the absa branch in Keywest Krugersdorp, had a meeting with the financial advisor Sonja Pen Lai and during the visit we couldn't be assisted or get any answers she insisted she send an email to Lindiwe Mahlangu which I was also cc, till to this day Lindiwe hasn't bothered to reply to the email as usual.. shame on you ABSA...
