Absa service sucks and they will just ignore you!

I had a SARS refund due to me which was paid to my old inactive absa cheque account. I contacted Absa and they confirmed that they can see the credit, and that it can be transferred to my active savings account(also with absa) and that all I have to do is send an email to *** and someone will contact me within 5 days as per the automated response ( I have this on record). Today is day 8 and still no one has bothered to call or respond to me.

I went to the absa branch at mall of Africa yesterday and the consultant apparently tried to escalate the matter. But the only way this matter can be escalated is via email to someone named Florah who never responds to emails or bothers to call a client back. I then asked for her boss's details which was refused to given to me by the call centre and branch. She also agreed with me that the service is shocking. If your own staff can see how poor your service is, surely you need to hire better people who actually understand the concept of customer service, people who actually care about the banks reputation. At the moment, your service is almost non existent!

It seems to me Absa is looking for ways to hold peoples money ransom for as long as possible, I assume they earn interest on such money that they commit to release and then hold onto.

No sense of service whatsoever. I would never encourage anyone to open an absa account. They are useless, have no sense of client service and have no escalation points. They ignore you like you mean nothing. This is why I moved my cheque account to a competitor whom I've thus far received much better service from.

This is my money that they agreed to transfer to my savings account and now I have to jump up and down because no one bothers to stick to their advertised SLA. The ombudsman should investigate them for *******ion and ********* engagement protocol.

Over and above that, the inactive cheque account was handed over to Some Shackleton Attorneys for +- R12 000 which accrued due to me not using the account for over 2 years. Seriously? I settled my overdraft, and then Absa decides to charge me fees for 2 years after asking for them to close this account. Now I have to look for the proof. Surely theres a time/value limit within which they can exploit people's inactivity on their accounts by charging excessive bank fees.

Nevertheless, It's day 8 and still no update, call back or response from Florah or her team. This *** email is as useless as Absa staff who have no sense of customer service whatsoever.
