ABSA sending PIN numbers via Post Office

I could not believe my eyes this morning when I received my PIN nr via the post.
There was no warning that they were going to do this and I have never received it in such a manner.
I activated it at the branch as requested and I thought that was it.

My mailbox door is broken (like many) at the flat due to vandalism and anyone snooping could have taken the document and realised what they had and then targeted me from there (Pick pockets?) - They would have my PIN and I would not know it. The bank would then simply state that funds were withdrawn with my PIN and that therefore means I gave it to someone. I would not be covered/refunded!

This is very lacklustre security from ABSA and I expect better. There was no need to deliver my PIN via the dam post ??! And if you really wanted to for some strange reason, use hand to hand couriers / sms / password protected emails. There are so many secure options - The post is NOT one of them !

Rgds
M
