Absa Sandton defunct

I have a business account with Absa. On the 01 June I had to pay my Vodacom account plus other mandatory payments only to find that my account had been blocked with a message "not identified or verified". On Monday 01 June, I phoned Absa and spoke to a lady (Sandton branch where my business account is held) who informed me that the account had been blocked because I needed to Fica re-register, but that I could do the Fica at any ABSA branch. So I travelled to ABSA Village Mall where I tried with the help of an agent for 45 mins to get the account Fica registered to find out that actually I cant Fica my Sandton business account at Hartbee****rt branch. Coupled with the travelling this exercise cost me about 2 hours of frustration. The agent and myself tried for at least 15mins to reach the Sandton branch telephonically for assistance without success On Tuesday 02 June I once again phoned Sandton and spoke to a lady who informed me that she would email my account manager urgently. Nothing transpired. Attempts to contact the Sandton branch in the afternoon were unsuccessful as they were on Monday On 03 June my account manager phoned me to say he would send me forms to sign and return back to him and he would Fica the account. Having signed the relevant pages I was told this was not good enough and that I had to initial every page, scan in and send back. This is problematic if you don't have a scanner. Eventually the Sandton account manager contacted me to say that he would send the forms to Hartbee****rt and that I could once again travel to Hartbee****rt Absa to sign the forms So in order to re-Fica register this is going to cost me about 4hrs of time and travelling expenses - what a ridiculous counter-productive situation. Obviously Absa have little understanding of businesses and business practices, are totally inefficient and judging by the inability to raise the Sandton branch on two consecutive afternoons telephonically appear to be defunct to the extreme. You would think that the blocking of an good business account would be inconsistent with prudent client support and business practice - but for Absa this is obviously not the case. If this is an example and level of Africanacity as they keep on advertising then we are not going to go very far-down the tubes for certain.... Good luck with anyone doing business with Absa - you would have to have the patience of "Job" and about a standard three certificate to fit in here. And don't worry yourself complaining as I have just done - there is nothing you can do to change the incapacity obviously embedded into the Absa Bank network- really another waste of time- maybe Africa bank........
