Absa *****s your hard earned cash

I had an overdraft facility on my account which I cancelled many years ago. I queried a small amount that was being deducted every month and was told it was life assurance, so I left it, as I assumed it would pay out sometime. I recently contacted Absa to find out what it was worth, only to be told it was for my overdraft facility. I was being sent from pillar to post with numerous phone calls to find the right department to contact and numerous emails, to no avail. I have contacted them telephonically to which they rep**** I needed to cancel it (as far as I am concerned, they should have cancelled when I closed my overdraft). I have contacted complaints and polserv. I rep**** 6 days ago to an email where I was told to go into the branch to sort it out and still no answer. I want the years of payments that were being deducted to be refunded immediately, with interest. I don't know how Absa can be one of the top banks when they are absolutely useless and ***********.

Please check your accounts and make sure that Absa cancelled the assurance to protect them should anything happen to you.
