ABSA, rude and useless

This morning I received an email from ABSA saying the following: "We have been unable to confirm an active property insurance policy for your property linked to your bond account, which is now overdue as of 1-Dec-21.... Absa reserves the right to take out a policy* on your behalf". ABSA has made zero previous attempts to phone or email me on this matter whatsoever, nothing attached to my regular loan statements either. Further they already have a copy of my policy and the details of my current insurer, who they have also not attempted to contact.

I don't take kindly to these sort of threatening emails, strongly implying that I'm somehow at fault, when it's ABSA who hasn't made even the slightest attempt at due diligence.

Any attempt by ABSA to initiate a second insurance policy or charge me any unauthorised fees will be treated as *****
