ABSA Roadcover ****

I was been spammed call by ABSA number so I picked up, an it was agent representing ABSA selling Roadcover. The agent went on and said that I had been chosen by ABSA due to my loyalty and long relationship with the bank. The agent went on to explain that Roadcover is an insurance for when I am injured in an accident on the road and that guaranteed cash payout of up to R150 000 is paid out to me or anyone in my immediate family. Due to the nature of our roads I thought it was a very good insurance to have and it was made more attractive that it was only R39 a month for the family. Bargain hey.. wrong! I signed up and received my welcoming and information brochure today. Turns out it was nothing that the agent sold me. Roadcover is rather a legal representation of you to assist a claim with road accident fund. Furthermore the brochure explains that a RAF can take between 36 - 48 months to complete the claim AND Roadcover CAN NOT guarantee a successful claim!! It also goes on to say that you need to remain a member through out the process. So in essence i could waste almost R2000 (over a 48 month period) only to find out my claim was unsuccessful!! This is totally unacceptable of ABSA to BS loyal clients like this! I have been contemplating a change in banks and this could very well be the straw on the camel's back. ****, false advertising or just downright bullying someone into a product.... shame on you ABSA
