ABSA REWARDS- MISLEADING ADVERTISING FROM THE START WITHOUT CLEAR REQUIREMENTS IN LAYMAN TERMS

DEAR ABSA

Your absa rewards program advertising is misleading and does not reflect the true nature of the program which is not to pay the client and inform him clearly.

Hiding behind misleading terms and conditions and not clearly indicating what the requirements are in layman terms and not legally correct for interpretation conditions.

You advertise 30% rewards on purchases when on tier 5 with partner spends limited to R3000.

So if you spend R3000 at Sasol , R3000 at dischem, R3000 at pick and pay. you will still not receive 30%. you will get 27% back, because the hidden not clearly stated minimum spend to qualify for the 30% is R10k.

Update your terms and conditions to clearly state, a minimum of 10k CARD purchases need to be done to qualify for the 30%.

I have been a loyal Absa client for years but the rewards program is misleading.

On your banking product it clearly state minimum values, lets say salary requirements for certain products but all of a sudden when it comes to the rewards program you word the terms not not clearly state minimum spend which is clearly done to mislead people.
