ABSA restriction of access to business account

So ABSA decided to freeze our business account on Wednesday 24Nov2021, out of the blue, apparently because of some FICA issue. Almost a week later, after many calls (and holds) and emails and a visit to our local ABSA branch, and still no response from anyone. At our branch, they just shrug their shoulders nor do they want to accept the FICA documents required to unfreeze our account. Apparently only the business banker, one Natalie Snyders, who is assigned to our account, can unlock it - but she is not at the branch during business hours - nor does she respond to emails or take/return calls. Neither does her manager, one Mark du Toit. And apparently no-one else within the whole of ABSA is allowed to help us! What an absolute mess!

Interestingly, it took our local FNB branch just 45minutes on Saturday to open a new business account for us - using the exact same FICA documents which the ABSA branch refused to accept - and we have now done our month end payments from the FNB account.

I give you one guess what we will be doing in the coming weeks with all our other ABSA accounts...!!!
