ABSA Racial Abuse and ***********

Friday morning House floods - burst pipe. Call Absa group building insurance. They send a plumber. 4 phone calls later begging assistance with the water and electricity knocked out. At 4 an electrician is alerted. By 19:00 no electrician I call by 21:00 Electrician arrives. Saturday morning Call Absa - call centre says "sorry wait till Monday," I ask for an after-hours no - it is an emergency, "Nope call on Monday," I ask for a supervisor and the lady makes an angry reference to "These White People" I responded "I heard that" - the line goes dead" I find a company to do water extraction and install a dehumidifier and I email the assessors (who does not answer phones on a Saturday either) all the video and picture evidence. Sunday the smell is unbearable but the dehumidifier is running non-stop Monday call ABSA 'so sorry they say' - Assessor comes over Monday afternoon makes an assessment and can't believe the subsequent damage - if only Absa mobilised the right people on Friday the damage would be less. They send a company to come to take out the carpets on Tuesday. Fast forward 24 hours later... Wednesday Call Assessor - claim has not been approved. I call Absa - "Carpets? " no they don't see anything about carpets needing replacement. [insert hyperventilating here] She promises the person dealing with my claim will call back. 2 hours later I go into the room - now stripped to the concrete and discover the whole area full of white mould. I call Absa again - speak to the claims division and she says "an assessor has been appointed and will assist you" I said "I know that" but what do I do right now this minute about the white mould? Because the assessor says they can't do anything any further until you approve the claim? She responds "An Assessor has been appointed and will assist you" Like an auto replay this went on another 4 times. She puts me on 'hold' I hold for 20 minutes. "She is not coming back it seems. I looked at the clock. It is 'home time' I call the assessor and mail through picture evidence of the white mould.... they will call the bank to find out if they can assist. We will call you back, he said. Absa group - Next LEVEL useless After 35 years in broadcasting, specialising in effective communication. THIS communication is going to kill me! Or the white mould will get me first.... because I have to sleep in this house tonight. SERIOUSLY Absa South Africa
