Absa provides no service oversees

I am currently out of the country on an extended week business trip to Sierra Leone. A few days in I find my absa internet banking services suspended. Assuming it was a safety protocol, I phoned the forex banking and SA call centres to unlock my service. I tried phoning upwards op 10 times without success. The SA call centre hangs up aitomatically after 15 minutes while the international number (24/7 service is claimed) doesnt even go through. I have even contacted my personal banker only to find she cant help me either because she needs my card. It seems when youre an Absa client travelling international you are doomed if something goes wrong. They certainly dont make it easy to get help.
