ABSA property insurance

I have been paying my ABSA property insurance, which is added to my bond payment, for numerous years with only one minor claim. My pool filter filter inlet pipe broke of at the unit which I was unable to repair. I contacted ABSA property insurance & they said an assessor would contact me to arrange a viewing. The assessor contacted me and I explained to him that I arrive home at 18.00hrs in the evening and he was welcome to inspect. He advised me that it was too late for him, so we agreed that I would send pics of the filter and forward it to him. He submitted the claim last week(02-02-17)and thereafter had no response from him. I phoned ABSA insurance yesterday and they informed me that the claim would not be paid out as a result of the findings of the assessor stating that I had not changed my filter sand and that pressure had built up in the filter....reason for the pipe breaking out. I sent an e-mail to the operations manager, but to date have had no reply.

I am concerned that this is starting to be the norm with submitted claims, money is subtracted every month for the service(which I feel is so unproffesional), and when the need arises, it is such a nightmare to use the 'so called' policy benefits.
