ABSA Private Banker with language issue

I received an introductory email from my new Private Banker in perfect Afrikaans. When responding in Afrikaans on a query , the Private Banker informed me that she does not understand Afrikaans and that I must repeat my query in English. It did not make sense to me to send out asigned announcement in Afrikaans when you do not understand Afrikaans !
