Absa personal loan interest rate

I have been a client of absa bank almost 20 years. Recently asked for a personal loan to install solar on the same property i also have a home loan with at absa. They only wanted to give me 60% of the solar system. I then asked if i relief my vechile would they consider helping me with the whole amount. I reliefed my vechile bond within 2 hrs after they agreed to reconsider. I had to write an email stating that i would not purchase a new vechile with the loan, which i also did. Total amout for solar i needed was 390k and the vechile relief plus an additional 9.5k rent plus surplus from my salary came down to a monthly surplus of around 16k. Absa then send me a qoute for only 350k at 25% annual interest rate for 60 months. Meaning i have to payback close to 700k in 60 months!! I questioned the interest and the answer was that the vechile was an asset and that the solar system on the asset under absa portfolio is not, even though it would increase the value of the property. They then send a new qoute of 21%. Other banks i have never done business with such as Nedbank to name one immediately offered interest rate of below 10%. Even solar companies that does the financing and installation is not that expensive. Im still shocked, last time we saw interest rates that high was when there were sanctions againts the country. I think it is necessary to inform people of this. My father also canceled his loan for solar at absa.
