ABSA PAYMENT RELIEF. . . IS NOT A RELIEF. . . IT IS A LIE . . .

Hi, during this time of Covid-19 Absa offered their clients a "payment relief". I have a personal loan with Absa and due to pay cuts and short time, I took Absa up on thei offer. My acount was not in arrears, I made sure it was always up to date. Today I get a call from a LAWYER because ABSA handed over my account and wants me to make a payment arrangement. Firstly, why was my account handed over. It was not in arrears, ABSA offered a payment relief and I took up the offer. This should not mean my account is in arrears. Now something like this looks bad on my credit record. I've been a client with Absa for over 30 years. And this is the service. The lady that called from the Lawyers office demanded a payment of R2500.00 "atleast".

People kept telling me to move to another bank. And something like this now just pushes me over the edge. You know during this time of Covid-19 alot of us are stressed finacially. Some are suffering from depression. This called from a lawyers office pushed me too far. Asba not once contacted me to let me know they handing over my account. . . I did not put a stop payment on my loan with absa. ABSA stopped the debit order because of the payment relief and now you make me look bad and put me under so much pressure.

Why offer your customers a payment relief and then hit them in the face with it.
