ABSA payment references are insufficient

As I go through my statements for tax end, I notice that all my debit orders that used to contain valid reference comments only contain the reference numbers for the beneficiary and no longer for my own reference. I have contacted ABSA before, and they told me that it was my issue. I followed their recommendations, but nothing has changed. I do not get the correct reference for my own bookkeeping. Additionally, when one makes a payment to a beneficiary, the Payshap option always gets highlighted first, which I do not want to use. I notice a few times this payshap has gone through. I would appreciate it if they would specifically change this to a normal transaction as the standard option, as one pays a lot for Payshap.
