ABSA PARYS: BEYOND USELESS

Went to the ABSA Parys branch on the 5th August 22 to open an Estate late account as I am the executor of an estate. This is my experience:

1. First thing the consultant said is that when she called me in is that she thought it was going to be quick as she was about to go on lunch. now she will miss lunch. 2. An hour later I was told that my proof of address was not correct and I have to fix it and come back. 3. Came back on Monday the 8th August with the correct proof of address. Two hours later the consultant said that is has all been sent to FICA and she will call me when it is ready. 4. Monday the 15th I get an SMS from ABSA saying the account is open, I must deposit money and visit the ABSA branch TODAY STILL. 5. Drove 56KM to ABSA Parys only to be told the account is still locked ! When I asked about the SMS the consultant said in a very arrogant way " I told you I would phone you" 6. When I told her the bank telephone just ring when we call them she casually told me " we know, the 20 number ring, but we do not know where'' 7. I asked to see the manager and told her about the phone just ringing and she said ''the lady who is suppose to be answer it is on maternity leave'' 8. I left them and asked them to call me and let me know what is happening....no call two hours later! 9. Called the ABSA complaints department and they took my details. then asked me to hold on to register the complaint. After holding on for 7 minutes I put the phone down. Then got an SMS to say they will contact me in 8 business hours.

I am stunned in how the mighty ABSA treat potential customers. PARYS BRANCH MANAGER, YOU SHOULD BE EMBARRESED AND ASHAMED. !!

PS. IT WOULD BE GOOD TO TALK IN A LANGUAGE THAT ALL CAN UNDERSTAND. English IS NOT MY HOME LANGUAGE, BUT i SPOKE IT TO YOU. DO YOU REALLY THINK YOU CAN MAKE REMARKS ABOUT A CUSTOMER IN ANOTHER LANGUGE, THINKING HE CANNOT AT LEAST CATCH ONE OR TWO WORDS TO UBDERSTAND WHAT YOU THINK OF HIM?
